Hindu Heritage Month 2020-Planned Activities

• Hindu Heritage Month Celebrations - November 2020

In December 2016, through an Act embedded in Bill 56, The Province of Ontario proclaimed the month of November as Hindu Heritage Month in recognition of the immense contributions that Hindu Canadians have made across all fields of endeavor in the Province.

The Hindu Federation will be celebrating Hindu Heritage Month during November 2020. The theme of this year's celebration is "Daanam" - giving with compassion.

Planned activities include:

• Food drives by Hindu Federation member organizations
• A shoe box project that includes donation of personal care items to local hospitals
• A virtual Multi-Faith Forum planned for Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 5.00 to 7.00 p.m.
• A motorcade that will also celebrate Diwali and show suport for Frontline workers at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital, and
• A virtual cultural program on November 22, 2020, from 1.00 to 4.00 p.m. that will feature cultural performances by at least 10 Hindu Federation member organizations, as well as messages from officials from all levels of government.
